APPROACHING CONFLICT RESOLUTION AS A TEAM

The mediators at EMCNJ recognize that when working with those living with disabilities and those who are aging, many interdisciplinary principles come into play.  The challenges facing these individuals often run the gamut of legal/surrogate issues, financial issues, care issues, residential issues and personal issues.

The EMCNJ mediator understands that there may come a time during the mediation, when the participants are generating options to resolve the conflict, that another professional or "expert" should be brought to the table to provide objective learned information about various options.  For example, when working on residential and care issue, a geriatric care manager should be brought into the discussion.  You may visit www.caremanager.org to learn more about the discipline of geriatric care management.

The mediators at EMCNJ recognize the importance of this interdisciplinary approach to conflict resolution and have access to some of the finest and most experienced professionals who will be able to assist the participants in generating real options.
